GreenForce-Player Editor's Review
No matter what I'm planning to do at my computer, the first program that I turn on is my media player. Whether I'm surfing the Internet searching for some new interesting piece of software or working who knows what, it's quite possible to have some song playing in the background. That's why, when it comes to new media software (even if it's a video player), I'm always curios and anxious to take it to a test drive. The last one that I've tested is GreenForce Player.GreenForce Player is a lightweight media player software loaded with some nice features among the simple playback options and several media files support. One of the most interesting features is to encrypt and protect media files with a password. This means that if you have a media file that you want to protect (no matter if it's a video or an audio file), you can secure it and it can be visualized (or listened to) only after entering the right password. Another interesting feature is the cache system that is used to reduce the usage of your hard disc. Due to this, your hard drive will stay relaxed even when plays high quality video files that normally requires heavy work.
Next let's see how we password protect a video file with GreenForce Player. First of all, go into the DRM menu and select Protect Video. After this, we will have to browse and select the video (or audio file) that we want to protect. Implicitly, the software will save the encrypted media file the same location as the original and with the same name. However, you can modify this. Next, we will have to enter a password to encrypt the media file. If you want to, you can disable snapshots’ if you want if you don’t want anyone to take screen-shots of your videos. After this, when you will hit the Save button, GreenForce will start encrypting the video file. When it's done, you can remove the original media file and keep only the encrypted copy of it.
Among the features mentioned above, GreenForce includes a play-list manager to manage your media files and 2D and 3D cover flow.
Pluses: portable; free; media files encryption; lightweight;
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: If you are looking for a full media experience with great features and many file format support, you should give it a try.
